Das Leiden als Frage an Gott., Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Jahre 1984 erhielt Hans Jonas von der Evangelisch-theologischen Fakult�t der Eberhard-Karls-Universit�t den Dr. Leopold-Lucas-Preis verliehen. Das Thema seines Festvortrages "Der Gottesbegriff nach Auschwitz. Eine j�dische Stimme" dr�ngte sich ihm auf, als er erfuhr, dass der Namenstr�ger des Preises in Theresienstadt starb und dessen Frau ebenso wie Jonas� Mutter in Auschwitz ermordet wurde. Jonas w�hlte das Thema, wie er schreibt, mit "Furcht und Zittern". Denn seinem Philosophieverst�ndnis stand die Schuld gegen�ber, den Opfern von Auschwitz "so etwas wie eine Antwort auf ihren l�ngst verhallten Schrei zu einem stummen Gott nicht versagen" zu k�nnen. Anders gesagt, er wollte dem Schweigen Gottes nicht noch das Schweigen von Gott hinzuf�gen. Hans Jonas wurde 1903 geboren. Er studierte bei Heidegger und Bultmann. Sein Verh�ltnis zum Judentum beschreibt er als typisch f�r moderne zeitgen�ssische Juden, die ihre Erbschaft nicht preisgeben haben, ohne dabei in strengem Sinne gl�ubig zu sein. 2 Wohl am besten gibt seine Haltung ein Erlebnis wieder, von dem Jonas in Gespr�chen mit Rachel Salamander berichtet: Jonas wurde einmal recht unvermittelt gefragt, ob er an Gott glaube. Salamander schreibt (Jonas wiedergebend): "So direkt bin ich das noch nie gefragt worden - und das von einer fast fremden Person! Ich sah sie erst etwas ratlos an, dachte nach und sagte - zu meiner eigenen �berraschung: �Ja!` Hannah (Hannah Arendt, B. R.) zuckte zusammen - ich wei� noch, wie sie mich fast erschrocken ansah. >Wirklich?Ja. Letzten Endes ja. Was immer das bedeuten mag, die Antwort �Ja` kommt der Wahrheit n�her als �Nein`." [...]
