Damit mittelst�ndische Unternehmen den steigenden Anforderungen des Marktes gerecht werden, greifen sie verst�rkt auf leistungsf�hige und moderne ERP-Systeme zur�ck, um dadurch die Gesamtbetriebskosten zu senken und die Produktivit�t zu steigern. Gro�-Anbieter von ERP-Software haben diese Entwicklung erkannt und versuchen verst�rkt in dieses Marktsegment einzusteigen, auch da der Markt f�r Gro�unternehmen bereits nahezu vollst�ndig ges�ttigt ist. Diese Fallstudie zeigt Probleme auf, die beim Einstieg von ERP-Anbietern in den Mittelstand entstehen oder entstehen k�nnen und welchen Anforderungen ERPSysteme in mittelst�ndischen Unternehmen gerecht werden m�ssen, an Hand zwei unterschiedlicher ERP-Systeme erl�utert. Im ersten Teil dieser Arbeit werden die Begriffe ERP-Systeme und Mittelstand definiert. Darauf aufbauend stellt der zweite Teil die individuellen Anforderungen von mittelst�ndischen Unternehmen an ERP-L�sungen dar und zeigt dabei verschiedene Auswahlkriterien f�r ERP-Softwareanbieter und vorhandene Barrieren bei der Implementierung auf. Der dritte Teil zeigt signifikante Aspekte des Mittelstandmarktes f�r ERP-Software in Deutschland auf und vergleicht zwei bekannte ERP-Systeme. Abschlie�end wird diese Fallstudie zusammengefasst und ein Ausblick auf k�nftige Entwicklungen gegeben. Der Begriff ERP wurde im Jahre 1990 von der Gartner Group entscheidend gepr�gt.
