Dieser Ansatz hat sich ausgehend von Amerika, wo sich FM Anfang der 80er Jahre etablierte, vor knapp mehr als f�nfzehn Jahren �ber Gro�britannien bzw Niederlande in Europa verbreitet. Viele Aspekte sprechen f�r eine langfristige Verankerung von FM: Verb�nde und Vereinigungen (zum Beispiel IFMA, EuroFM, FMA bzw GEFMA), die unter anderem (internationale) Konferenzen / Tagungen ausrichten, sind gegr�ndet worden, ein spezifisches Ausbildungsprogramm hat sich auf FH- als auch universit�rer Ebene (zum Beispiel FH Kufstein oder TU Wien) etabliert und viele Unternehmen setzen FM konsequent um. Ein interessanter Aspekt ist, dass insbesondere in (internationalen) Konzernen diese Umsetzung dazu f�hrt, dass FM in den Unternehmensnamen der (aus-) gegr�ndeten Tochterunternehmen aufgenommen wird. Die zunehmende Bedeutung von FM f�hrt zur Nachfrage nach "Facility Manager", aber welches Anforderungsprofil hat diese neue Berufsgruppe? Mit dieser Problemstellung besch�ftigt sich die vorliegende Arbeit und dies soll auf den folgenden Seiten im Detail er�rtert werden. Um diese Fragestellung zu beantworten, wird zuerst der Begriff "Facility Management" anhand von vorliegenden Definitionen umfassend definiert. Dies f�hrt zur Darstellung einer bisherigen sowie einer weiterentwickelten Konzeption von FM. Im Anschluss daran wird in einem Exkurs der FM-Markt kurz umrissen, um einen �berblick �ber die Einsatzgebiete von Facility Managern zu geben. Schlussendlich wird die Problemstellung beantwortet.
