Ein nahe liegender Weg, ein Produkt m�glichst kosteng�nstig anbieten zu k�nnen, ist das Produkt mit m�glichst geringen Kosten zu produzieren. Vor diesem Hintergrund beschreibt die vorliegende Arbeit die grundlegende Problemstellung bei der simultanen Losgr��en- und Reihenfolgeplanung im Rahmen eines kapazit�tsorientierten hierarchischen Produktionsplanungs- und Steuerungs-Systems mit dem Ziel einer Kosten sparenden Planung. Zwei ausgesuchte Modelle zur simultanen Losgr��en- und Reihenfolgeplanung werden vorgestellt, anhand ihrer Strukturmerkmale eingeordnet, und miteinander verglichen. F�r einen Spezialfall eines dieser Modelle wird schlie�lich ein effizientes L�sungsverfahren mit hoher L�sungsg�te vorgestellt. Im Vordergrund der Betrachtung stehen Produkte, die in kontinuierlicher Flie�fertigung auf einer Produktionsstufe hergestellt werden. Die Produktionsstufe setzt sich aus einer oder mehreren Produktionslinien mit beschr�nkter Kapazit�t zusammen, wobei die Produktionslinien / Maschinen als planerische Einheit betrachtet werden. Produzierte Artikel geh�ren zu R�stfamilien; wird auf einer Produktionslinie auf einen Artikel einer anderen R�stfamilie als der des zuletzt aufgelegten Artikels umgestellt, muss umger�stet werden. Dies kann R�stkosten und R�stzeiten verursachen. H�ngen diese von der Art des zuletzt aufgelegten Artikels ab, spricht man von reihenfolgeabh�ngigen R�stkosten bzw. -zeiten.
