In Ankn�pfung an die in Band 5 dieser Schriftenreihe pr�sentierte Diskussion thematisieren die Beitr�ge die Frage nach der Kontinuit�t herrschaftlicher bzw. politischer Ordnungen im Umgang mit Fremden und Armen seit der Sp�tantike. Dabei wird gefragt, welche Folgen die christlich motivierte Umdeutung und Neuordnung der Armenhilfe in den europ�ischen Gesellschaften bis zum Sp�tmittelalter hatten, welche neuen Formen der Inklusion/Exklusion von Fremden und Armen mit dem Aufstieg des modernen Staates verbunden waren und welche Ordnungsmuster von Solidarit�t in Gegenwart und j�ngster Vergangenheit angesichts internationaler Zuwanderung, von Globalisierung und Europ�isierung entstanden sind.
