English summary: In recent years, interdisciplinary interest in the global dimensions of the history of Christianity has grown enormously. This global history cannot be understood, however, without paying proper attention - regarding both the recent past and earlier periods - to the multiplicity of regional centers of expansion, indigenous initiatives, different confessional expressions, and numerous forms of local Christianity. This volume contains the papers presented at the Sixth International Munich-Freising Conference. They examine important paradigms of non-western missionary expansion and highlight central aspects of the polycentric history of World Christianity. At the same time, they contribute to our rethinking the global history of Christianity as a history of transcontinental interactions.
