Aus dem Leitfaden wurde im Laufe der Jahre ein aus zwei Teilen bestehendes Standardwerk f�r Architekten und Ingenieure. Mit der 27. Auflage von Teil 1 und der 26. Auflage von Teil 2 haben die jetzigen Verfasser die weitere Bearbeitung �bernommen. Dabei ist bis heute der "Frick-Kn�ll" die mit Abstand am weitesten verbreitete Baukonstruktionslehre f�r Studierende und auch ein von vielen Fachleuten gesch�tztes Nachschlagewerk geblieben. Den jetzigen Bearbei- tern war dies ein besonderer Ansporn, das nun in 30. Auflage vorgelegte Werk wieder gr�ndlich zu �berarbeiten und zu aktualisieren. Nach wie vor wird von einer Baukonstruktionslehre erwartet, da� sie die wichtigsten Aufgabengebiete des Bauens erfa�t, die unterschiedlichen Konstruktionsprinzipien in den Bereichen des Rohbaues, Innenausbaues und teilweise auch des Technischen Ausbaues ber�cksichtigt und dabei die sich st�ndig weiterentwickelnden Herstellungs- verfahren aufzeigt. Schlie�lich mu� deutlich gemacht werden, da� alle Baukonstruktio- nen abh�ngig sind von statischen Bedingungen, bauphysikalischen Einfl�ssen, Bau- stoffeigenschaften, von den Baukosten und der Bauabwicklung sowie von beh�rd- lichen Bestimmungen und Normen. Auch bei der vorliegenden �berarbeitung erschien es notwendig, das Gesamtwerk an einigen Stellen zu erg�nzen, um dadurch bautechnischen Weiterentwicklungen und der st�ndigen Fortschreibung der Normung gerecht zu werden. Der wachsende Umfang des f�r den Baupraktiker n�tigen Grundlagenwissens erforder- ten eine etwas ge�nderte Stoffverteilung.
