Zumindest von der Zahl der Ver�ffent lichungen her kann der damals zu Recht erhobene Vorwurf, die Betriebswirtschaftslehre habe keine praktische Hilfestellung im Umweltmanagement zu bieten, nicht mehr aufrechterhalten wer den. Da� dann der "Stand der Praxis" Zeit braucht, um an den (brauchbaren) "Stand der Theorie" heranzukommen, gilt nicht nur im Bereich des Umweltschutzes . . . Daher konnte die 2. Auflage nicht ohne eine grundlegende �berar beitung vorgelegt werden. Faktisch ist die H�lfte des Buches neu geschrieben worden. Einerseits haben sich fr�here Kontroversen erledigt. So ist heute unstrittig, da� Unternehmen eine eigenst�ndi ge Aufgabe im Umweltschutz wahrnehmen k�nnen (und es auch schon tun). Daher wurden die Kapitel im ersten Teil gestrichen, die sich mit der damaligen Kontroverse befa�ten. Auch die Fallstu dien �ber �ko-Pioniere - damals ein wichtiges Argument f�r die Machbarkeit des Umweltmanagements - konnte gestrichen wer den, weil es mittlerweile dar�ber eine breite Berichterstattung gibt und erfreulicherweise die Zahl der guten Beispiele so gestiegen ist, da� ihre Dokumentation ein eigenes Buch erforderte.
