Il exploite tous les ressorts du r�cit comme la multiplication des narrateurs et des points de vue, et pratique en m�me temps une �criture tr�s visuelle, propice aux sc�nes particuli�rement frappantes. L'�trange Cas du docteur Jekyll et de M. Hyde (en anglais, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde) est un court roman �crit par Robert Louis Stevenson et publi� en janvier 1886. Il s'agit d'une r��criture, le premier manuscrit ayant �t� d�truit par Fanny Van de Grift, l'�pouse de l'auteur, qui le consid�rait comme un "cahier plein de foutaises." L'oeuvre raconte l'histoire d'un notaire, Gabriel John Utterson, qui enqu�te sur le lien �trange entre Edward Hyde et le docteur Henry Jekyll. Le docteur Jekyll, un philanthrope obs�d� par sa double personnalit�, met au point une drogue pour s�parer son bon c�t� de son mauvais. C'est ce dernier qui, nuit apr�s nuit, prendra finalement le dessus et le transformera en monstrueux Monsieur Hyde.
