I've read everything Mary Jo Putney has written. Her Fallen Angels series is worn out from my reading it so often and I have bought the Guardian series in hardback as it came out. Her new Lost Lord series lives up to these, as well--and I had never read her seminal series: The Silk trilogy. I loved Mikhal, understood his passion for revenge, the secondary characters made me care about them, but Lady Sarah shines as another of the strong women Putney creates. I have a rule about my fun reading: I do not waste time on women without backbone. Sarah discovers hers with Mikhal's help--and then he wonders if he created a monster! Terrific read. I couldn't wait for the sequels.
