This volumne was only the plates of the works discussed in the lecture. It was frustrating that the images were black and white photos, but understandable given the vintage of the book. The photos are very well done otherwise and in many ways are more helpful in viewing the composition of a painting than color photos of the work. I was able to obtain separately the volumne which had the text of the lectures, which I have not completed reading as of yet. I do think anyone buying the book of plates should also purchase the text. But the plates are still helpful on a stand alone basis for composition study.
