Eerily accurate! Fun to read and analyze yourself, partners and friends. I first came across this book at a neighborhood party to celebrate the Chinese New Year. As guests arrived the host would look up their birth year and sign in this book and then share the comments and characteristics aloud. Made for lots of fun conversation and an uncanny amount of agreement. Naturally each person was less inclined to confirm the least attractive traits of their sign, but all in all it was entertaining and more than enough reason for me to begin searching alibris for a personal copy as soon as I got home from this gathering. The book is more detailed than many of its type, way more so than the place-mat charts common to Chinese restaurants, and has easy to read text , numerous charts and playful illustrations throughout. It delves into relationship compatibilities and harmonies, the five elemental types within each sign, for instance I am an Earth Rat, and gives some wise perspective on challenges inherent to each sign and in particular those presented in relationship to others. Touches a bit on feng shui and also combining western (e.g., Sagittarian) and eastern (e.g., Earth Rat) characteristics to help you build deeper profiles. I found Chinese Horoscopes, by Australian author Debbie Burns, to be an excellent value for the playful and spot-on identities revealed within its pages. Now, where oh where is that perfect Metal Hare or Water Dragon!
