Courageous Tribute to WWII
It may sound silly, giving a tribute to a war.
We all know that those who provide armaments are the only winners of war.
Yet Bodie & Brock, with their fine attention to detail; their brilliant casting of characters; their excellent use of real life figures such as Churchill, and Hitler have brought to a climax their previous two Zion series,
As we squirmed with American pilot, "Tinman", as he battled the ignorance of those supposed to be his comrades-in-arms whilst trying to be the best pilot that he was able, and survive the war. We experienced the terror of Josie, as she fell in and out of love, experiencing again and again the invasion of hostile forces at a moment when she was trying to get her Jewish 'çhild' to freedom.
The characters are somehow real.
The situations are credible.
This is a novel written with skill, compassion and daring.
