Brave Irene Review
My two-year old daughter is amazingly well-read. I picked up this book for her birthday because her name is Irene. Despite how long it is compared to other books in her library, she will snuggle up next to Mom or Dad and listen to the entire thing---which is impressive. The illustrations capture her attention, and the story has more plot to it than most written for toddlers. It's a wonderful story about a dressmaker's daughter, filled with great descriptive winter scenes and a sweet ending. Now another favorite from William Steig, author of Shrek and Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, that we keep next to her bed for nighttime reading.
