This is a verry good book . It is a book however that is simple enough for some 1-3 graders to look at . This is due to its lavish pictures that are found throughout the book .I think that a 6 -8 grader will find most of this book readable. Most adults will find enough interesting information here to continue reading the entire book . A herpetoligist , or someone with intrest in reptiles will like this book for the value of its ability to speak to all younger people . And that is why it has a place on my shelf. the larger edition 14x11 inches is especially nice . the two drawbacks are that the book seems to have a weak binding 'spine' and the dust jacket is thin . overall though a great book to have on your shelf.
