Read the series
Very clever plot lines, lots of London history , excellent full-blown characters and really good writing.

Tired old characters and plot
The author tries to switch back and forth between the past and present and fails to make the switch smooth. The characters are made of wood and the ending oh-so predictable. I tend to enjoy humor in my mysteries and I found this one dull.
