All my fellow MOB's - mothers-of-the-bride - know what a challenge it is to cut corners in the high-priced wedding business without looking tacky...and any book by Paula Pryke is a masterpiece of color sense, modern design, and imaginative innovation. I spotted this book in North America's largest craft store chain- still ridiculously over-priced for "Canadian" buyers on every item in the place- and fell in love with the illustrations. Use of seeds, pods, bark, natural fruits. luxury fabrics- and not a false sequin or cheap bead anywhere in the clear plans. Photos on how to decorate candles and candelabras, seasonal centerpieces- all are photographed "in the making" from all sides. Should be no problem following those directions and coming up with something mighty close. British design runs the gamut from unbearably fussy to more bold than most other countries can match- and when it comes to working with flowers and candles , Paula Prkce is in that bold" category- a real inspiration. I was delighted to receive this book at a bargain price from Alibis and pass it on to the bride
