In general, quality obituaries in reputable newsppers are a fascinating read. The dead are not going to complain anyway, although every now and then one reads an obituary of someone who has not yet kicked the bucket.
Harry de Quetteville, for many years the editor of the obituaries page of the Daily Telegraph, the British broadsheet, published many outstanding obituaries and has selected 365 of his favourites - the leap year gets short shrift - for this book and they don't disappoint, though obviously some may appeal more than others to the individual reader.
