Now available in one volume, two classic Janet Evanovich romances, which feature Elsie Hawkins--the prototype for fan favorite Grandma Mazur in the wildly popular Stephanie Plum novels BACK TO THE BEDROOM She was the mysterious woman in the long black cloak. He was the sexy guy next door. They shared a common wall between their Capitol Hill townhouses and not much else--until disaster scored a direct hit on the mystery woman's bedroom and the sexy guy's heart. He baked her a cake, she learned to throw a football, there were some misunderstandings in the living room, some mishaps in the yard, and some romantic moments everywhere... Kathryn Finn lives her life in the fast lane ? rushing everywhere. This hare meets the tortoise when something comes crashing through Katherine?s roof and lands on her bed. David Dodd is just a kid at heart, enjoying life. Two more ill-matched people could not be imagined.
David has noticed his neighbor rushing past his window on many occasions. However, the day the camera pod crashed through Katherine?s ceiling was the first time they met. He decides he?s going to marry Kathryn; she decides David is not good marriage material because he constantly seemed to play.
This is the first Elsie Hawkins book. One can already see Grandma Mauzer emerging; a saucy older person eager to shoot anyone who looks ?wrong.?
I guess Evanovich is laughing all the way to the bank; but I would have died if someone had revived this book and reprinted it (if I were its author). In a word, it is awful. Even CJ Critt (reader) couldn't save it. 1 star
