Tim's wife agrees to hang in there with him during the treatment, but only as a result of a mutually agreed upon financial arrangement between them. The outcome is amazing in that Tim doesn't remember the awful man he once was. Sue, Tim's wife, gets the chance to make Tim into the man she lost so many years before.
