I have had and considered many prayer books over the years. There are many attractive and adequate ones out there, but this one is far and above any I have ever seen or used. The clarity of meaning, the resonance and flow of the language, it masters the fine tuned purposes of an aid to prayer. I have one that I acquired from a long gone book club in the late 1980's. I have only seen the paperbound editions since, but even those may be out of print now. This is a keeper, and one you can always confidently give as a gift that will be treasured.
