The first of a two book series by the late (and greatly lamented) Douglas Adams was orignally an idea for an episode for Dr. Who, and there is a bit of a time/space travel theme to the book. The book is light, and is quirky enough to bear re-reading, which is a good enough reason to take it on holiday with you. But the story is well told, and the characters, for all of their oddities, are fully fleshed out - more so than in a lot of science fiction. The book probably won't change your life, but it will pass the time, and perheps even make you laugh out loud.
