Murger's book is more often referred to than read. It is the grandmere of the definition of Bohemian. I'd like to read it in the original but this translation seems fine. There isn't any information on who the translator was or when it was done. It looks like it was between 1900 and 1940. I wonder how much has been censored from the original. But it's still an interesting read for anyone fascinated by the subject and period.
