School Shootings
This fifth book in the O'Malley series is about Rachel O'Malley, a trauma psychologist who works disasters for the Red Cross. During a flood, she works closely with Captain Cole Parker, a firefighter. A murder scene is found and there is a link to a school shooting. I never really did understand what the school shooting was about, but then, most are senseles, aren't they? Cole is sweet, and has obviously been in love with Rachel for a long time. One of her sisters, Jennifer, who doesn't have a book of her own in this series, but has been sick for a long time, dies. Very touching, but not typical of how cancer patients die. The issues of loss, fears and grief are explored with Jennifer's illness and death.

You don't have to be a fan of Christian novels to enjoy the well written books by Dee Henderson. She includes believeable characters and real life situations in her fast paced- novels that make you want to read more of her work. For an avid (Christian) reader like me, the everyday quality of the faith she includes is just a big plus to her well written stories.

Good Book!
This is the prequel to the O'Malley series. But even though I didn't read this book until after the other six, I still enjoyed it and it kept me on my toes till the end.
