To read the back cover, you'd never expect this to be the gem it is. So much happens to this man, Deputy Dan Justice, both heart-breaking and heart-warming, that it's amazing it fits in one book. He's a happy family man whose faith gets tested in a surprising way. More than once, the words on the page suddenly blurred, or were those my tears? At one point, I wanted to make the author do an alternate plot because I found what happened too distressing. But in the end, Dan is able to find closure and happiness.

Inspiring Book!
This book starts out with a recently widowed dad and two kids moving to a small town to start their life over. They meet and try to help a troubled teen which later gets the two kids killed. Being the sheriff of the town, the dad is the one who investigates the crime and finds his kids dead. This book is a major tearjerker! The "gang" of the town slowly gets more twisted and complicated as the story progresses...you really can't put the book down! However, there is a hint of sweet romance and the story ends well leaving the poor guy with more family.
