The dust jacket is also in very good condition with slight wear and soiling. A very nice copy. Inscribed by the author to Angelo Goffredo, who was serving on the Missouri in 1950 when it ran aground. There is also a typed letter signed by Butler thanking Guffredo for introducing him to some of the crew members. "Guffy" is also mentioned by Butler in the book's preface. The paste downs and end pages are illustrated from the USCG Survey Chart that locates the Missouri's final two courses prior to her grounding. The author chronicles the Missouri's running aground in the Chesapeake Bay in January 1950 and the Navy's attempts to refloat the ship.
