Although this book was written over 100 years ago, its enduring truth makes it a Christian classic. It's an overview or biography of the life of Christ, based on the gospels and summarizing his life into categories like The Birth, Infancy and Youth of Jesus, The Nation and the Time, The Final Stages of His Preparation. It also divides His three short years of ministry into The Year of Obscurity, the Year of Public Favour, and the Year of Opposition.
The final week of His life, called The End, gets special attention. Stalker has great knowledge of his subject and is able to draw a lovely string around this bouquet to help you see the beauty and uniqueness of Jesus Christ. There were moments when I had to stop and just marvel at what I read. So beautiful. What a Saviour!
