Seller's Description:
Very good. Connecting readers with great books since 1972! Used books may not include companion materials, and may have some shelf wear or limited writing. We ship orders daily and Customer Service is our top priority!
The writing is well above any romance novel you'll find at the grocery store or Wal-Mart, and the sex scenes are graphic. A classic of the 1970s that still holds up well.

Uh... No
Tried valiantly and just couldn't get through it. These characters are definitely inhabiting a universe I have not encountered and speak in ways that bear a limited relation to the world I know. The prose style does have a certain focused intensity, but often could be described as turgid and occassionally ridiculous

Not for the faint-hearted
An intense and intensely well-written love story. Sometimes the story veers a bit off kilter and some of the explicit details are a little hard to stomach even while lending to the book's impact. Still, Scott Spencer is certainly one of the best novelists of the late 20th century.
