CHANCE (Changing How Adults Nurture Children's Egos), a nonprofit organization based in Denver, Colorado, has been serving families since 1997 using our Healthy Habits, Happy Homes model. These revolutionary techniques are changing children's lives by promoting healthier parenting and helping families move forward from recovery to discovery. The goal of this book is safeguarding children, building trust and breaking the cycle of violence. Ms. Dalpiaz shows how a caring and thoughtful parent can recognize the trauma family violence inflicts upon children and how to help them recover and go on to live happy, violence-free childhoods. Herself a target of family violence, Dalpiaz earned degrees in psychology and early childhood education and eventually founded a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children.
