The Shadow Hero Workbook; Lessons to purify the Hero archetype in you; Healthy vs. Unhealthy Hero behavior; Unconscious Patterns 201 (38 pages original material on this topic) Is there anyone NOT purifying their gifts and talents from Shadow Hero behaviors? Possibly the first book in Hero Archetype literature attempting systematic access to disturbed sub- and unconscious Hero patterns; along with, therapeutic directions for resolving them. 18 short lessons designed to increase awareness of dysfunctional Hero patterns. 18 categories of functional and dysfunctional hero behavior are outlined. Therapeutic direction are suggested to clear each, using any method of your own choosing. NOT another Hero story. NOT a rehash of Campbell's hero cycle. The Workbook is stages of the Hero's cycle re-arranged by psychological category, as possible to do. Surprisingly, the lens of the Shadow Hero metaphor, enables us to to view most human problems. Virtually all of our modern problems can be discerned thru this lens. The moral and ethical shortcomings of Wall Street's culture of greed are wholly Shadow Hero behaviors. "The American Dream;" and, Horatio Alger rags to riches, are heroic myths. The Shadow Hero lens lays bare what needs purifying in our behavior based on these archetypes. Let's be willing to be more aware and work on them in our spare time. That's all we can do. I recommend working thru no more than one lesson per day on your self. Remember, as Arthur Clarke said, "focusing on pathological behavior to an excessive degree, is pathological in itself." The returning Prodigal Son focuses on being back in the Home of his Father and how that wonderful this will be. All shadow behavior tends to be UNconscious. We're only most conscious of our waking human experience from the neck-up. Still, we remain responsible for all habits-expressions from the two lower thirds of our psyche, sub- and unconscious. Also for coaches and therapists designing workshops around the Hero's Journey. Flesh out these insights into sequences of fun, social, interactive group processes for groups. The author is available to give trainings if you need to see how this is done so you can do it too. A companion to the 2014 work, Unconscious Patterns 101, Tools for the Hero's Journey of Self-healing https: //... Were you encouraged or frustrated to play Hero or Rescuer as a child? Intuition to act out and purify our Shadow Hero is a driving force of our Child within, our Child archetype. Did you play and act out Hero behaviors (more masculine) or Rescuer behaviors (more feminine) or both as a child? The drive of our inner Hero must be channeled into expression, direction and purpose. If this does not occur, this drive can ferment, corrupt and become Shadow Hero behaviors, self-focused into negative, unproductive expressions. Unpurified Shadow Hero behaviors can be worked on and slowly purified by practice of any method practiced regularly. This can be artistic: painting, dancing, muscle-testing, calculus, mothering, writing, counseling, etc. The more self-mastery we have, easier it is to take an honest look at what lurks in the shadows of our own psyche. Concludes with The Hero's Journey as Soul Journey The Hero Prodigal Son
