Is Boston big enough for them both?
Elizabeth Camden has quickly become one of my absolute favorite historical fiction authors and I eagerly await each new release. From the moment I first saw that gorgeous cover I wanted to read From This Moment, and when I found out that there was a suspense thread running through the story I was even more excited.
From This Moment is about some very flawed characters, not the ones we usually call flawed, but genuinely flawed people who make some real and pretty big mistakes. They jump to conclusions, push their way through things like a battering ram, are totally hardheaded, lash out at each other, and just generally make all of the relationship mistakes that real people actually do. There were times I really didn't like any of them, but that just proved to me how talented Elizabeth Camden is in her craft. I was totally involved in the characters lives, riding the emotional rollercoasters, and just immersed in the setting. That's one of the things that I love about this author, her ability to completely immerse the reader into, not only the story, but also into the very time period itself.
From This Moment is a wonderful historical romance with a dash of mystery, a tense showdown with the villain, and one that will make readers delve down into our own often poor reactions to those closest to us.
(I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
