In September 2010, I wrote and published a blog post that would forever alter the direction of my life and the lives of many others.Millions of people read The Disease Called "Perfection," and at the end of the piece, I made the following request to others: "tell us all just how perfect you aren't. "Thousands of heart-melting, inspiring, heavy, and real responses came pouring in on its pages. To follow the discussion was enough to make anyone cry and laugh repeatedly. And, as you can probably imagine, sifting through so many comments became too heavy a task for most people, and many of the incredible comments got buried without being read at all. For that reason, I teamed up with my friend Faith McCausland to bring you this book, which I hope is a perfect mixture of the now more than 5,000 comments that have been made on that post. I've also included a new chapter on the topic as a whole, the original blog post, and the one year follow-up discussion that I published on my blog. More than anything, I wanted a way for those who read it to be able to experience the discussion the way so many of us did from the beginning. In a beautiful, touching, and thought provoking way. I think this book gives every reader the opportunity to do that.
