I saw the movie back in the 1970's when it was first aired on TV and didn't know it was a book first. So, a few years ago I gave it a try. There are some major differences in the two and I'd lean towards the movie being better, yet the book was entertaining and enjoyable, and it moved pretty quickly. It would be a good book on a long flight or a cruise.
