Olivia's descent into addiction was excruciatingly slow at its onset in her thirties. The signs weren't glaring until the end, but by then, it was almost too late. There was a lot for her to lose but even more left to save. She was a typical professional woman, like your sister, friend, mother or yourself. This woman made it out of her created hell on her own terms and followed few traditional recovery rules. Twelve Steps don't work for everyone, certainly not her. This story is living proof that addiction is not a fatal disease. It is a creation of the mind that can be destroyed.
