This Hellboy story revolves around an ancient manuscript reputably penned by Jesus long after he was supposed to be dead (after the crucification). Is it a fraud? It is real? Why was the Vatican attacked by firey angels and several irreplaceable documents destroyed in order to erase the document? A lot of very mean and nasty demons, and angels come into play, and the team at BPRD needs to investigate. Hellboy, Liz and Abe apparently were merely asked to deliver the document to a safe location....although it seemed that it was meant to be destroyed. Things are never that easy, though, and it ends up being a very dangerous task, as usual, but then if Hellboy ever got a break then there wouldn't be story. A new character is introduced who can read the personality and thoughts of the owers of personal items. Eventually he's given the horn of a demon to analyize. There is even a portion where the characters apparently enter a demonic sort of "demension".
