More Niven!
This is one of a series of four books that "prequel" the discovery of the Ringworld. I found out the hard way that they should be read in sequence for best understanding of the story line. They are quite good, and fill in lots of holes in the Known Space universe. (but create a few others) Recommended for any Niven fan
