A wonderful, heartwarming love story. Loved the characters and the whole idea of this kind of story to tell as only SB can do it.

An EXCELLENT Book!
I didn't expect to be drawn into this book so quickly! The main characters are so true-to-life, honorable, and generally the type of people I would like in my life. I could feel the determination of each main character, their sense of fairness, and their empathy and kindness to those around them. I don't have firsthand knowledge of the time period, but plenty of my older relatives confirmed that the scenes and actions detailed in the book are what was really happening in the 30's.
And best of all, the subtle, heart-wrenching love story makes this one of the most memorable books I've read lately. I applaud Ms.Brown and hope that she continues to use her abundant talent to bring moments of thoughtful, enjoyable reading to her fans. Thank you, Ms. Brown!
