Anne McCaffrey is a very good author, and her books on Pern are very entertaining. They are fast paced, good reading books. I enjoy them very much.

Dragonseye
Although not as good as some of her books about Pern, Dragonseye does fill in some of the questions about the evolution of the development of the dragon riders of Pern. Dragonseye takes 250 after the first fall when what technology is left fales and Pern's inhabitants must, once again, adjust to thread. For those caught up in this amazing series, I recommend it.
