Juvenile Writing leads to weak Plot
I was very disppointed in this book. I found Ms.Ivy's had a very limited vocabulary and I felt early into the book that I was reading a book better suited for a teenager. Simple words that were used over and over. Cliched vampire terms. eg. he looked like a predator, he tore his throat out. She couldn't get past these phrases. Also, Dante was supposed to have incredible power yet all they did was run literally run away and hide in bushes! This happens throughout the whole book so that even I was tired of reading about them running and running! Where was all this power?! Next - not only could I not connect with Dante and Abby Ms. Ivy created absolutely NO heat, NO passion and to my way of thinking no feelings between these two characters. There was no character development of Dante and his background, but Abby's background was continually thrown at us. I therefore felt nothing for Dante - but I wanted to! The plot was very weak, predictable, simple and boring. There is probably more action in a Buffy The Vampire Slayer novel than in this story. It was deader than the undead!
