Seller's Description:
DeGraff, Andrew. As New in New jacket. 9 x 1 x 11.8 inches. pp. 240. Hardcover. Condition: New book with small remainder dot to text edge, otherwise unmarked. Dust Jacket Condition: New. Pictorial history of the Hearst ranches in Northern California. Like San Simeon Castle, the ranch was a popular getaway for Hollywood stars, as documented in the book. Many of the outbuildings were designed by architect Julia Morgan, including the hacienda on the former northern (Milpitas) ranch which was sold to the US Army in 1940 and is present-day Fort Hunter-Liggett. That hacienda became (and remains) the Fort Hunter-Liggett officer's club. The ranchland surrounding San Simeon Castle is a fully operational cattle ranch today. // Shipped carefully packed in a sturdy box.
