At first I was let down by the authors need to revisit the old places in almost the same order as the first book. However the story picked up as the three Caretakers got deeper into the mysterious lands of the Archipelago, and here is where the tale woven by Owen gets quite colourful. Young readers will enjoy his use of familiar characters like Peter Pan and The Pied Piper, and how he weaves a history connecting the main characters to the new ones by filling in past unknown issues in their lives. A wonderful story for young readers, and the young at heart who still see their futures for what it is. Nice words of wisdom mixed in, if you choose to see them.
