As with most of James Patterson's books, it is more wordy than necessary although still pretty good.
He also has the tendency, agin as in most of his books. to have more than one plot which can be confusing

Couldn't put it down
This book was excellent! I could not put it down. I started reading it while on a road trip. I read until I fell asleep with it. I can't wait to read another of his books.

Think twice-Be nice
Confined at the airport, I combed the paperback bestsellers, not particularly in the read mode, I selected the #1 James Patterson/Michael Ledwidge novel "Run", (first JP novel for me). Detective Michael Bennett is the new protagonist. Newly widowed, Michael is now sole caretaker of some 10 foster children rife with the flu, compounding this, his credentials are a ticket to lead a task force tracking an insanely prolific murderer "The Teacher" who seemingly kills randomly. An engrossing novel and page turner, although some of the twists are hauntingly familiar. I prefer my protags a little less saintly than Michael, even flawed, but a fine worthy novel. good read.
