Despite his attempts to be neighborly, the attractive redhead seems to have a grudge against him . . . and the presence of her longtime boyfriend doesn t help. Still, Travis can t stop trying to ingratiate himself with his new neighbor, and his persistent efforts lead them both to the doorstep of a journey that neither could have foreseen. a real disappointment
This book was absolutely awful. There was no character development whatsoever and the story was not even plausible. I felt no emotion for these characters, and I was insulted by the poor writing. I have read some of Nicholas Sparks other books, and have not found them lacking, but this one was one I wish I had not wasted my time on. I got the impression that he never even tried. The basic idea was barely fleshed out at all, and I doubt that even the author himself will remember these characters.

Sweet
Another touching love story by Sparks. He has the ability to take a lifetime of memories and condense them into the events of a few days, and the current afternoon, and distill from the description of those events, the key elements of a touching love story. His characters are always likeable, funny and real. His analysis of deep feelings and struggles over serious issues is insightful and never flippant. I'm glad it turned out as it did, although, in real life, I doubt it would have. But then, that's why it's called fiction.
