This item is in good condition. The cover shows normal wear and tear. Good used copy in condition you would find at a good used bookstore. Minor defects may exist such as edgewear, rubbing, etc.
While the title seems as if the book may be a little harsh, Dr. Dobson truly spends more time emphasizing loving and encouraging those little ones under our care than he does on corrective measures; then gives parents the tools needed for establishing the stability that clear guidelines for living will give to those little ones. As always, consistancy in enforcing those guidelines is key to success.

Very Helpful
I have always loved Dr. James Dobson and would recommend anything he writes or says.

The New Dare to Discipline
Wonderful! Parents are being bombarded with permissiveness so that children are allowed to do what they wish. Look around you in restaurants, sporting events, malls & even church. So many children are rude, unruly and destructive. Dr. Dobson's book uses Biblical principles and common sense. Having set bedtimes, sleeping in own bed, chores, punishment for not doing as instructed result in a pleasant atmosphere at home. Parents get time to themselves. Parents get permission from Dr. Dobson to raise their children as they were raised.
