This is not only a wonderful and true animal book, it's one of the best books I've ever read! Wesley is amazing and the author is a great scientist and writer, I'd recommend this book to anyone, whether you are a bird lover or not.

Very smart, goes to the heart
This is one of the best human-with-animal memoirs I've read. The author is smart, a scientist and an excellent writer. I felt I got to know both her and her owl intimately. Touching story and illuminating.

Superb owl/human story!
This is a story of a woman who adopts a baby owl. She and the owl live together for about 20 years before the owl passes away. O'brien does a beautiful job of describing the antics and surprisingly unique personalitiies of owls. At one point, she describes her owl as a "cat with wings". This book is very enjoyable and easy reading.
