Coming of age, obsessive love, betrayals galore...
Sarah Bird has packed a whole lot into this wonderful, gripping, novel! The themes she explores include: dysfunctional families, grief, female friendships gone way into obsessive control, an exploration of obsessive love and longing, and several personal and romantic betrayals. The characters are very highly developed and absolutely fascinating! Plus, the reader gets to learn about the history of flamenco, the Spanish Civil War and it's aftermath. Wonderful, fast moving plot that kept me fascinated until the last page! I highly recommend this book! It got me reading other of this writer's works.
