Bonney, President of the World's Fair Congress Auxiliary, in the following words, quoted from his address introductory to the proceedings of this Congress: However important the proceedings of this Congress may be to those who will have the pleasure of participating in them, a thousandfold greater will be their use if they should be widely published and circulated throughout the world. We hope, therefore, that the government of the United States, or some other providential aid, will enable us to put the proceedings of this and the other Congresses of this wonderful Exposition season in the leading libraries of the world, where they will be accessible to those who lead the thought of the world in the differ ent departments of progress.
