Ueberall werden wir gen�thigt sein, von dem, was sich ihm in seinem Be wusstsein darstellt, auf die ihm halb oder v�llig unbewussten lei tenden Principien seines Denkens zur�ckzuschliefsen. Wir werden dabei finden, dass der Mangel an Bewusstsein �ber die bewegenden Kr�fte des eigenen Denkens und die damit zusammenh�ngende Selbstverst�ndlichkeit so vieler Annahmen f�r seine Philosophie von �berraschend grofser Bedeutung ist. Dabei wird sich zugleich zeigen, dass die Analyse seines Denkens nach dieser Seite des Unbewussten und Selbstvtarst�ndliehen hin zu der Blofslegung der jenigen Fundamentalwiderspr�che f�hrt, in denen sich sein Philo s0phiren consequent bewegt. So erhebe ich freilich den An sm*uch, Kant besser zu verstehen, als er selbst sich verstanden hat. Indessen ist dies nicht Aufgabe einer jeden kritischen Dar stellung einer Philosophie, sobald deren Urheber und welcher Philosoph sollte sich dessen r�hm% k�nnen? Sein eigenes Den ken nicht bis auf den letzten f�r den Menschen �berhaupt dureh schaubaren Grund durchschaut hat? Uebrigens sagt Kant selbst, es sei "gar nichts Ungew�hnliches, sowohl im gemeinen Gespr�che als in Schriften, durch die Vergleichung der Gedanken, welche ein Verfasser �ber seinen Gegenstand �ufsert, ihn sogar besser zu ver stehen, als er sich selbst verstand, indem er seinen Begriff nicht genugsam bestimmte und dadurch bisweilen seiner eigenen Absicht entgegen redete oder auch dachte (s.
