Binding remains sturdy and fully intact; previous owner's inscription on front endpaper, a few stray fountain pen and pencil markings in margins, otherwise text very good; foxing to end pages and margins of some pages; boards are shelf-worn at edges but otherwise remain in generally good condition; gilt titling remains clear if a little dull; two small, beige stain spots on rear board.
