If you are looking for a light read on Bell"s life, this is a good book. Since Mr. Bodley was a second cousin of Gertrude and the book was written in the 40s, he was able to talk to family members who had personally known her. As a result, the book is written from a family view of her life. He does leave out details of her mountain climbing, and one of her love interest, but he does well on other areas of her life. If you are looking for alot of details of dates and names, this is not the book, but for a light overview, he does well.
